Dog Doors
With Solo Pet Doors, there is no more opening and closing the door for your pets! Our dog door is completely automatic! No more worrying about getting stains on your carpet while you are at work or sleeping. A Solo motorized automatic pet door will free you from being a doorman for your pet! It will also give you the peace of mind that no unwanted intruders can invade your home.
Solo Pet Doors are locked in the closed position for added security and can be connected to your home security system. Only your pet can activate the pet door. Strays, raccoons, possums, rats and other unwanted visitors are kept outside where they belong.
Solo Pet Doors offer a more comfortable life for you and your pets since they can enter and exit the house at their convenience without interrupting or disturbing you.
Your pet's health will also be improved with our Solo motorized pet door. Because your pet will have more access to the outside, they will be able to get more exercise and relieve themselves whenever needed, even when you are sleeping or not at home.
Your pet’s safety and your home security are not overlooked with a Solo Per Door. Our electronic dog doors are safe for your doggie, because the door closes using only gravity, so it cannot hurt your dog. Solo Pet Doors are secure and come with a locking system. The vertically sliding motorized pet door is electronically activated by a small sensor, which is easily and comfortably attached to your pet's collar. The distance and sensitivity of the door's opening time can be adjusted at your discretion as the pet becomes familiar with the door. The door is also compatible with electronic fences.
It is easy to teach your pet how to use our dog door. This technique will work for an adult dog or a new puppy.
When you install your doggie door, make sure you install it for the height of your pet. The bottom of your doggie door should be an inch or two lower than the level of your dog’s belly. For puppies, you will need to install the doggie door flush with the ground; and you will need to re-install it at higher intervals as your dog grows.
To introduce the new pathway to your dog and to reduce the stress level when your dog initially uses it, keep the motor off and the door propped open and call your dog through the opening. Use your pet’s favorite food treat to make it more enjoyable for your pet. After a dozen times going back and forth, your dog will learn there is a hole in the wall especially for him. Encourage your dog to use his doggie door by not letting him use the "real" house doors, and pointing him in the direction of his new doggie door. If you have a very young puppy, do not expect them to learn this in one or two days as most adult dogs do.
You will need to repeat the same exercise with your dog when you activate the motor and have the dog door function automatically. At this stage, some dogs begin going through the door with ease, others become quite excited, but still haven't figured out that the door opens automatically. Watch your dog’s reaction so you can adjust the sensitivity of the dog door's opening distance and the time the door remains open. As the dog becomes more familiar with the door, you can fine-tune these settings. Sometimes it makes it easier for the pet to get comfortable with the door if the bottom edge of the door is left slightly open. You can leave it in this partly opened position for 1-3 days until your dog becomes comfortable in using his new doggie door. After 1-3 days, your dog should be able to go through with no problems. We are here to help you with any questions.
Your doggie will love their newfound independence, and you will love not having to let the dog in and out multiple times a day!
